The Internal Communications Program Coordinator will execute strategies and communications that help Cerner’s associate workforce understand key corporate imperatives. The internal communications team members are Cerner’s internal storytellers, highlighting key elements of our business, culture and workforce for more than 22,000 associates around the world. The small team manages Cerner’s associate communications mediums across all campuses and provides support to stakeholders across the company. You’ll tackle the sometimes technical world of health care, and harness our message to touch people’s hearts and influence the way they think.

You’ll also:

It’s your job to understand our industry and business, and spread the word about all that we do.

Be a professional networker. We’re a company of 22,000 associates. You’ll build relationships with Cerner leaders and collaborate with peers to identify and execute story opportunities and understand the business.

Bring a strategy to life . You’ll execute internal communications strategies and project plans and collaborate across Cerner and within a small team.

Create connections for our leaders . You’ll provide assistance to our senior leaders in improving their internal communications and connecting them with our associate base.

Desired Skills:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and to effectively manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision

Ability to produce content at a fast pace, turning around 300-1,000 word articles, blogs, emails, scripts and other communications in 1-2 days.

Strong writing skills

Ability to independently source stories

Portfolio of storytelling skills across multiple mediums

Basic computer skills such as MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and Wikis

Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills

Proficient in AP Style

Experience executing strategies across complex organizations

Strong attention to detail; organizational and analytical skills

Ability to work irregular hours and overtime as needed

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 3 years of corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, journalism and/or agency experience

1-2 years of management experience in a communications, journalism, or marketing function

Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, advertising or similar

3 years of experience in an internal communications role

Experience writing about high tech or health care topics

Experience crafting executive communications

Experience managing social media accounts and/or writing blogs

Some photography and video experience a plus

Intranet content creation experience a plus

Experience with Jive or SharePoint a plus

Basic HTML experience a plus

Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign a plus
