Research Assistant – Obesity 184 views

A new full-time position is available for a Research Assistant with strong interpersonal skills working with Coordinator and Principal Investigator on a randomized study in older diabetic patients. Assist with research participant visits that include anthropometric measurements, cognitive function and other questionnaires, physical frailty measurements, pulmonary function measurements, medical history and ECG.

Complete phone follow-up with research participants to review doctors’ visits, health care utilization, hospital visits, etc.

Responsible for participant scheduling and rescheduling of cancellations, provide email and phone reminder notifications. Collect medical and death records as needed. Follow up existing medical records as needed. Code and scan medical records. Complete data entry of participant visits on a daily schedule. Complete data edits under guidance of Program Coordinator. Assist with planning social events and writing newsletters, sending mailings, etc. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 1.5 years of related experience or equivalent in education, training and experience.

The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.

Must have up to date comprehensive computer skills. Must be able to work independently. Must be a good communicator and interested in working with older persons. Must have excellent attention to detail. Biology/health/or psychology background.
