Title: Web Content Manager

Position Summary:

The Web Content Manager will provide the day to day management of and guidance and support to the District website owners, contributors and support staff in the appropriate use and support of the Districts’ web platform. The incumbent in this role will be integral in ensuring a high level of responsiveness to staff for site governance, access, public presence, application enhancements, integration of automation and tools, and general usage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises internal and external staff responsible for day to day support and special projects related to the use, maintenance, upgrade and/or enhancement of the District’s web platform
  • Coordinates content efforts across departments
  • Creates and ensures adherence to District standards for content layout (including font type and size, etc.)
  • Reviews and maintains the master pages created to support the various District portals and subsequent content
  • Serves as the liaison between vendor and internal departments such as IT and 3rd Party vendor to ensure content requirements related to website migration are implemented appropriately
  • Assists in the development, editing, and proofreading of website content
  • Serves as an internal consultant and expert to other areas of the organization leading to the delivery of a single brand presence
  • Works closely with the technical, departmental and school personnel to maintain site standards
  • Creates, develops and manages content for organization’s web presence as necessary to ensure the best representation of the District is delivered
  • Maintains a consistent look and feel throughout all web pages and properties
  • Collaborates with governance council and executive management to deliver ways to integrate various tools into the website
  • Ensures web-based information is archived for future needs and reference
  • Coordinates web related communication to ensure message consistency
  • Supports web developers and administrators in the maintenance and use of the web platform
  • Provides hardware/software evaluation and planning
  • Participates as part of project teams as deemed necessary to incorporate new and existing technology into the over-arching enterprise applications landscape
  • Ensures that standard operating procedures are developed that can be accessed by IT and business staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems required or equivalent experience (8 years) in lieu of Bachelor’s degree (2 years of related work experience = 1 year of college); A combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Bachelor’s degree requirement

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing content for high traffic websites, preferably in a marketing or communications department required; 2 – 3 years of graphic or web design experience required; 2- 3 years of supervisory experience required;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a SharePoint 2007 or 2010 environment required;
  • Experience with SharePoint Business Intelligence tools a plus

Minimum Qualification:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • Working proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
  • Must be able to collaborate effectively with District personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

Salary Information:

Salary Range for 2015-2016

  • $64,855 – $76,543

Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 7 years (Step 8) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule B-235, Executive Scale, Step 1 – Step 8.
