1.1. Development of a capacity building strategy
Prepare a work plan and strategy for the preparation and implementation of trainings for field staff, implementing partners, contractors and stakeholders.
Design various training related to protection and gender including GBV trainings and ensure that the trainings are contextualised and adapted to different ACTED’s programmatic sectors of intervention
Develop other training related tools including tools for evaluation and monitoring, handbook for facilitators, training toolbox.
Support in the translation of training documents English/Arabic/English as per needs
Under supervision of the Protection Technical Coordinator, participate in the development of a specific SOP on Protection Capacity Building for the mission
Implementation of the capacity building strategy
Facilitate training and other capacity building activities to increase staff capacity in mainstreaming protection and gender into program component and operation.
Responsible for the technical capacity building of the protection officers including supporting them to roll out training to field staff
Support the Protection Officers to prepare and facilitate knowledge sharing sessions on diverse protection related topics for staff
Provide a logistical support for the organization of training
Identify and train Protection Mainstreaming and Gender Focal Points for each team
Monitoring and reporting
Ensure regular pre- and post-tests are conducted related to all participant’s trainings to evaluate learning
Consolidate all training trackers and the documentation of trainings (pre/post-test, attendance sheet, evaluation)
Provide feedback and support in the implementation of the recommendation made after trainings
Ensure reporting for the trainings conducted and share it with the Protection Technical Coordinator
Ensure regular communication with the Protection Technical Coordinator for updates on achievements, challenges and develop monthly and weekly plans
Contribute to mainstream protection and gender considerations among programme
2.1. Technical support for implementing partners in mainstreaming protection and gender
Support with adapting implementing partners’ internal systems and procedures relevant for mainstreaming protection and gender
Support implementing partners to use tools to mainstream protection in their programmes
Roll out the assessments of knowledge and capacity of implementing partners in protection and gender mainstreaming
Ensure implementing partners are integrated in the protection capacity building plan as per objective 1.
Development of strategies, technical materials on protection mainstreaming and gender
Support the Protection Technical Coordinator for the identification and development of strategies, technical materials and tools for initiatives related to protection mainstreaming and gender.
When requested, support the Protection Technical Coordinator in implementing of protection mainstreaming standards across the all programs
Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Submit weekly reports to the Protection TC on protection mainstreaming activities conducted and/or followed up.
Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to the Protection Technical Coordinator
When requested, support in submitting monthly factsheets, analysis report, etc.
When requested by the Protection Technical Coordinator, represent ACTED in relevant cluster and working group meetings
Contract duration is 6 Months renewable based on budget and performance
Basic monthly Salary of 1811 JODs
2.0 days is the monthly annual leave
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
University degree in a field relevant to the position: Psychology, Sociology, Law, Education or any other relevant discipline.
Proven experience (2 years) in similar position with a National, Local or International organisation
Strong understanding and knowledge on gender, protection mainstreaming across various sectors, protection (including women’s protection) and human rights in a conflict context
Strong experience in designing and facilitating training programs experience in facilitating training on protection and gender
Previous remote capacity building experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
High commitment to promote gender equality, humanitarian principles and values and encourage diversity and inclusion wherever possible
Fluency in in spoken and written Arabic requested
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
